UTE will call for an international bid for a private company to build a natural gas thermal plant and sell the generated electricity to the Uruguayan company UTE. Probably this bid will be in August. It will be a 360mw plant and will be an approximate investment of USD 150 million. This decision was taken by the President Jorge Batlle, the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Sergio Abreu and the President of UTE’s Board of Directors Ricardo Scaglia.
