IIT Kharagpur signs a MoU with Jindal Stainless

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jindal Stainless, with the shared objective of advancing metallurgical research and development.

Under this collaboration, Jindal Stainless and IIT Kharagpur have agreed to join forces on various metallurgical projects spanning process optimization, materials characterization, and primary alloy production.

This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in the field of metallurgy, signifying a commitment from both entities to drive innovative developments and create an environment conducive to progress. Leveraging their respective strengths, they aim to make meaningful contributions to industry growth.

In accordance with the MoU, IIT Kharagpur will provide technical consultancy and engage in academic and industrial research to enhance productivity and process improvement at Jindal Stainless. The collaboration will involve conducting lab-scale experiments, facilitating material characterization techniques, and supporting modeling and simulation studies. The primary focus will be on promoting sustainable metallurgical practices, including waste reduction, recycling, and water conservation.
