Hyundai to build gas plant in Iran
Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. has won a USD 1.2 billion order to build a gas plant in Iran. Hyundai won the order from Agip Iran BV, which is owned by Italy’s Eni SpA and from state-run Iranian oil firm Petropars. The gas-processing plant, located at Assaluyeh, will be similar to a USD 1 billion project Hyundai Engineering won three years ago in the same area. The plant will have a capacity to extract, treat and store 13.5 million metric tons of natural gas annually. Iranian builders will also participate in construction of the plant, which is expected to last three years, Kim said.
