Hydro modernisation in Vietnam

Alstom has won a contract valued at EUR 6 million with Mitsubishi Electric Corp. and Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan to supply new control system and protection equipment for the rehabilitation of Da Nhim Hydro Power Station (4 x 40 MW). The power station is located in Ninh Thuan Province, approximately 250km NE of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This is the first ALSPA P320, an advanced power plant control system developed by Alstom, to be installed in Vietnam. The work has already begun and is scheduled for completion in 36 months. Financed by JBIC of Japan, the rehabilitation project is aimed at restoring the Da Nhim Power Station (commissioned in the early 1960s) to its original performance levels. Mitsubishi Electric Corp. and Mitsubishi Corporation, the main contractors, are responsible for the rehabilitation of four generators and the associated electrical equipment.
