Gunnison spar contract

Wellstream, a business unit of Halliburton’s Energy Services Group, has been awarded a contract by Kerr-McGee Oil & Gas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kerr-McGee Corp., for the supply of a flexible flowline, jumper and risers for the Gunnison spar development project in the Gulf of Mexico. The field, located in over 945m of water, was discovered in May 2000 on Garden Banks block 668 and will be developed using the truss spar Kerr-McGee Global Producer VII. First oil from the development is anticipated in first quarter 2004. The project scope will be manufactured at Wellstream’s Panama City, Florida, USA facility where full scale burst and dynamic testing will be carried out to confirm the pipe structure. Items delivered in June 2003 will include a 5.375-inch ID flowline (8000psi), three 5.375-inch ID risers (8000psi) and a 5.375-inch ID jumper (8000psi).
