German streetcar fleet completely upgraded

Nineteen new low-floor streetcars have gone into regular service in Krefeld and concludes a local Krefeld success story, as large parts of the streetcar bodies were built from stainless steel made in the city by ThyssenKrupp Nirosta.  A total of 90mt of Nirosta 4003 stainless steel was used in the side wall frames, various articulated joints and the front end of the futuristic cars, which are similar to those in use in Basel and shortly will also be put into service in Berlin.
