Foster wins UK chemical contract

Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd has been awarded a five-year Long Term Agreement (LTA) for ExxonMobil project work in Europe including projects at ExxonMobil’s integrated refinery and chemical plant, Fawley (Southampton, UK). These projects will upgrade ExxonMobil facilities, while ensuring compliance with evolving legislation. Foster Wheeler will provide front-end engineering design (FEED), detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management services for selected refinery and chemical projects. Foster Wheeler has begun work on the front-end loading (FEED) phase of ExxonMobil’s sulphur-free motor gasoline (mogas) project, which is being developed to meet European Union legislation for reducing sulphur in gasoline. The refinery at Fawley is the largest in the UK and one of the most complex refineries in Europe.
