Fina Antwerp Olefins ethylene expansion

M.W. Kellogg Ltd (MWKL), affiliate company of Kellogg Brown & Root (owned by Halliburton), has won the EPC contract for the Fina Antwerp Olefins (FAO) NC2 ethylene expansion and upgrading project following a competitive bidding process. The project calls for the installation of a new pyrolysis furnace and modifications to the recovery section of the facility in Antwerp, Belgium. The expansion also provides the opportunity to upgrade the unit to substantially improve its energy efficiency. The design basis for the project includes a pyrolysis furnace which embodies special features also available through Kellogg Brown & Root’s SCORE™ ethylene technology. The work will be executed in the Greenford offices of MWKL and at the FAO facility in Antwerp. Completion is scheduled for fourth quarter 2002.
