Fin-fan cooler contract

A supply chain of small diameter stainless steel tubes supplied by Sandvik Materials Technology to fabricator Spiro-Gills for contractor Jacobs Engineering has resulted in eight fin-fan effluent coolers being installed for INEOS, Grangemouth, for a sour service application. The supply of straight tubes for finning and return bends represents an order value of around GBP 500,000 for Sandvik in its Alloy 825 equivalent grade, Sandvik Sanicro 41. Stafford based Spiro-Gills Ltd has provided tube finning and cooler fabrication to main contractor Jacobs Engineering. On-site installation and commissioning is now complete. The Sandvik Sanicro 41 grade is an austenitic, corrosion resistant alloy, characterized by a high nickel content and consequently excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride or sour environments and excellent resistance to acid attack.
