Everest Trek for charity

Chris Baxter, from AvestaPolarit’s Applications and Technical Support Department, is going to Nepal at the end of February 2004 to raise money for the Cerebral Palsy charity, Scope. Scope, a UK registered charity, is organising an Everest Trek to raise money. This charity helps people with cerebral palsy by providing practical help and support. The expedition flies to Kathmandu and then on to Lukla before walking, scrambling and climbing to the top of Kala Pattar at 5545m (18200 feet) high, reaching the high point on 5 March. Kala Pattar, in the Everest range, is around 5 km SW of Everest itself, overlooking the Khumbu Glacier and Everest Base Camp. Chris has to raise GBP 2500 by December for the charity, and will pay his own travel and equipment costs. Any donations, large or small, would be very gratefully received.
