ESAB acquires Sandvik welding business

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Sandvik welding operations including production units in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Sandviken, Sweden, as well as multi-year strategic collaboration on R&D for future product developments.

ESAB will be working over the next several months to integrate the Sandvik welding consumables business and operations to provide a smooth transition for customers worldwide.

Sandvik has been supplying welding consumables for more than 80 years, whereas ESAB provides welding filler metals, with a portfolio including stainless steel, nickel and high-alloy filler metals, strip cladding electrodes and fluxes.
