Hypertherm Inc. has introduced the Powermax380 portable hand plasma cutting system. The Powermax380 replaces its popular predecessor, the Powermax350. Easy switching, dual-voltage (115/230V) versatility is the hallmark of the Powermax380. Other performance achievements include digital control board and dynamic boost circuitry to compensate for low-line conditions that are common on many work sites. For greater customer convenience, the power switch and gas controls have been relocated to the front of the machine. It features a patented active electronic pilot-arc control circuit that helps maintain uninterrupted operation and optimum consumable life when cutting expanded metal. With process improvements on a proven platform, the system’s PAC110T torch delivers cut speeds 45% faster and consumable life up to 58% longer than the closest competitor tested.
