Drilling contract for Schlumberger

A contract initially worth about NOK 500 million for integrated drilling services on a number of Statoil fields has been awarded to Schlumberger Norge. Running for two years with options for two renewals of the same duration, the job covers directional drilling, measurement while drilling (MWD), mud logging and drilling optimisation.
The contract covers Statfjord, Gullfaks, their respective satellites and Veslefrikk in the North Sea, as well as Kristin and Norne in the Norwegian Sea. It also includes an option for Vigdis, Tordis, Snorre and Visund in the North Sea, currently operated by Norsk Hydro but due to be taken over by Statoil on 1 January. Integrated drilling services embrace equipment and services used for data gathering and optimal well placement.
