Through its strategic alliance with Unocal Thailand Ltd and Unithai Shipyard and Engineering Ltd, the Clough Group has been awarded its second tranche of contracts in seven months to design and build wellhead platforms and subsea pipelines for Unocal in the Gulf of Thailand. These contracts have been awarded to Clough-Unithai Engineering Ltd (CUEL), the 50% Clough-owned joint venture company set up to execute the Unocal work and worth a total of ASD 55 million to Clough. The latest Unocal contracts maintain Clough’s work in hand at ASD 735 million. The scope of the new work for Unocal, which will start immediately, includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of six four-leg wellhead platforms, six submarine pipelines totalling 25km, risers and subsea tie-ins.
