Hypertherm Inc. has released a brochure describing a newly reconfigured mechanised system enhanced with Hyperthermâs patented Coaxial-assist⢠jet technology to boost cutting speeds on mild steel. The 200-amp HySpeed HT2000 oxygen plasma system is âengineered to lower the cost of quality cuttingâ? by providing cleaner and faster cuts with electrode life up to eight times longer. The brochure is available through Hypertherm distributors and OEMs. The brochure states that cut speed of the HySpeed HT2000 is comparable to laser systems on most mild steel over 3/16-inch (5 mm) thick. It also cuts faster than oxyfuel on that material with no preheat required. The HT2000 is a dual-gas system that cuts mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and other non-ferrous materials with O2, Air, N2 and Ar-H2 as plasma gases and O2, Air, N2 and CO2 as shield gases.
