Chinese coal operation contract

Sandvik Mining & Construction has received an order from China-based Shenhua Energy for seven bolter miners for its Shendong coal production centre. The contract is for a total of seven low-profile Sandvik MB670 bolter miners, which will be supplied during 2010, with the first delivery in May. The Sandvik MB670 bolter miner is equipped to simultaneously cut a rectangular-shaped roadway and install roof and rib bolts. It can be operated at top speeds in modern roadway development layouts owing to its ability to cut and install roof support in simultaneous operations. The company reports that by using Sandvik bolter miners, coal mines in China have been able to achieve top performances with advancing rates of 50m/d. The MB670 bolter miner has an operating height of between 3m and 4.5m. It has a cutting speed 1.5m/s and a loading capacity of 25t/min.
