China paper plant

Oji Paper Co. Has announced it is preparing to build a large-scale integrated paper-manufacturing plant in China, although details remain undecided. It is reported that the Japanese paper maker plans to invest about JPY70 billion to build a plant near Shanghai. Oji will begin manufacturing coated paper as early as 2006 at the factory, which is expected to have an annual production capacity of about 500,000 metric tons. Oji would be the first Japanese paper manufacturer to make a full-scale entry into China.
