The Moroccan ONE (Office National d’Electricité) and ENDESA have signed an agreement for the construction and operation of a CCGT plant to be located in Tahaddart, 30km from Tangiers (northern Morocco). Under this agreement ONE will award the construction and the operating rights of the Tahaddart plant to a company in which the shareholders are ONE (48%), ENDESA (32%) and Siemens (20%). The latter will be in charge of the plant’s construction through a turn-key contract. This CCGT plant will have a capacity of 384mw and will burn natural gas supplied by ONE. ONE guarantees the purchase of the plant’s total capacity and energy output for a period of 20 years. The plant is expected to be commissioned in mid-2004. The project represents a total investment of USD 250 million for the company that will build and operate the new plant,
