Hart b.v. has announced that the first complete batch of BW fittings in Alloy 400 and Alloy 600 has arrived in their warehouse in Nijkerk, the Netherlands. Now the company can supply a full range of seamless elbows, reducers and tees in Alloy 400 and 600 from stock, in addition to the limited range of BW fittings acc.

Molybdenum production and use rises

According to figures released by the International Molybdenum Association (IMOA), global production of molybdenum has increased by 14% in the first three months of this year when compared with the same period in 2010.

Kobe Steel in talks to construct US plant

Kobe Steel Limited is in talks with Cliffs Natural Resources Inc to build a USD 200 million plant in the US. The factory, to be located either in Michigan or elsewhere in the US, is under consideration and details haven't been ironed out as yet.

PG&E reveals pipeline modernization plan

PG&E has unveiled an extensive pipeline modernization plan that would cost USD 2.2 billion over the next four years. But consumer advocates and elected officials were outraged by the company's proposal that customers pick up 90% of the expense.

Electralloy appoints Garrett as WPF Manager

Electralloy has hired Bryan Garrett to fill the position of Manager of Wrought Products. Garrett brings more than 24 years of experience in steel manufacturing to his new position. Most recently, Garrett served as Forge Manager at North American Forgemasters.

Oil Refinery in Mongolia

Mongolia will begin building an oil refinery early next year in an effort to meet domestic demand and reduce dependence on neighboring Russia for energy supplies. Construction on the refinery began on August 11 in the southeastern city of Saishand in Dornogobi province in cooperation with Mon L Gas LLC.
