Seitovirta, new CEO for Outokumpu

Mika Seitovirta has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Outokumpu by its Board of Directors. He will assume the position effective 1 April 2011, succeeding current CEO, Juha Rantanen, who will leave the position 31 March 2011. Rantanen will support the new CEO until August 2011.

TITAN opens new facilities in India

TITAN Metal Fabricators has opened a wholly-owned production subsidiary in India. TITAN Metal Fabricators India is TITAN’s first expansion outside of the United States. This new operation includes manufacturing facilities in Mathura, 90mi south of New Delhi

Jonsson retires from president and CEO of Saab

Jan Åke Jonsson will retire from his position as President and CEO of Saab Automobile AB (Saab) effective 19 May, 2011. The search for a successor is currently underway and Jonsson has agreed to assist Saab’s Management with a smooth transition to his successor by remaining available until 1 September 2011.

Samsung wins project in Saudi Arabia

Samsung Engineering Company has signed a USD 2.76 billion deal to build a natural gas liquid complex in eastern Saudi Arabia. As per the contract, signed with Saudi Aramco, Samsung Engineering will finish the complex in the Shaybah oil and gas field by June 2014.

Kobe Steel to open headquarters in China

Kobe Steel’s Chinese headquarters will open on 1 April 2011. Kobelco (China) Holding Co., Ltd., as the company will be called, is the first headquarters established in China by a Japanese steelmaker. Based in Luwan, Shanghai, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Kobe Steel is capitalized at USD 50.14 million.

Ausenco wins contract for Tonkolili project

Ausenco Limited (Ausenco) has received a USD 15 million operations and maintenance service contract from African Minerals Limited for the Tonkolili iron ore project in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The contract includes the provision of operations and maintenance services

Doosan invests in UK wind power industry

Siemens to supply auto-tech to sugar refinery
