Synthesis Energy Systems (SES) and Simon India Limited (SIL) extended their exclusive marketing and engineering agreement, originally signed in March 2013, to market SES' advanced technology for coal and biomass gasification projects in India.

Vallourec, the premium tubular solutions company, will now operate in four regional units: Europe, North America, the Eastern Hemisphere and South America. The four regional senior vice presidents are part of the Vallourec Group Management Committee and report directly to Philippe Crouzet, chairperson of the Vallourec management board.

Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has been named as a steel supplier for Ford cars produced in Russia. MMK is successfully completing the acceptance process for its steel plate with Ford Sollers Holding, Ford carmaker in Russia, and is increasing supplies of automotive sheet to the corporation. Currently, two items of ultralow-carbon steel in various drawing categories used in the production of car body parts (including the front) for the Ford Focus have been fully accepted.

Olympic Steel, a US metals service centre, announced that Sean Heenan has been named general manager of the company's operation in Winder, Georgia, effective April 2015. Heenan began his steel industry career in 1994 as management associate at United States Steel Corporation.

Mario Mehren, currently a member of the Board of Executive Directors of Wintershall responsible for Exploration & Production Russia, North Africa and South America, has been named president of BASF’s Oil & Gas division effective July 2015.
