Superior Tube offers heat exchanger tubing to TEMA

Superior Tube, a manufacturer of precision metal tubing for safety critical applications, has received a contract from TEMA India to supply heat exchanger tubing for a new Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.

The vessel is among several commissioned by Brazilian energy giant Petrobras to develop the oil reserves in the pre-salt fields in the Santos basin off the Brazilian coast. For the vessel’s heat exchangers, Superior Tube provided 37 kms of seamless alloy 625 tubing. Manufactured to the most stringent specifications, the tubing will undergo a rigorous testing process in order to meet high-quality requirements.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Superior Tube in providing the INCONEL 625 tubing for this prestigious project with Estaleiros do Brasil Ltda (EBR) and Toyo Engineering Corporation of Japan. It is the first FPSO project executed by an Indian company with Petrobras as the end client,” comments Haresh K. Sippy, managing director for TEMA India.

Superior Tube and Fine Tubes collectively are a unit of AMETEK Specialty Metal Products, a division of AMETEK, a manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical products.
