G.O. Carlson and Stainless Corporation have signed an agreement whereby Jindal will roll specialty steel plate on its Baytown, Texas mill for Carlson, and Carlson in turn will be renting space from Jindal for the purpose of establishing a plate processing operation with capabilities similar to those of its plate processing facility in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Carlson will also be taking over the marketing of specialty plate products and the operation of Jindal’s plate finishing facility that is to be modified to increase the scope of its plate size capabilities. This series of changes will occur over the next three months in order to ensure a smooth transition for Jindal and Carlson specialty steel customers.
