Universal Stainless & Alloys Inc., Canada, a distributor of stainless steel long and flat products, has completed the acquisition of ACME/DAVIS Pipe and Tube of Canada Inc., a manufacturer of stainless steel ornamental and structural tubing. The assets purchased include inventory, 4 mills, 2 round polishers, 1 square polisher and 1 buffer. This acquisition allows Universal the ability to manufacture and polish a large part of its current product range, including the polishing of stainless round, flat, hexagon and square bars. All assets have been removed from ACMES’ location in Mississauga, Ontario, and have been installed at Universal’s newly purchased 78,000 sq ft. facility in Mississauga. Universal started full production of tubing in October and expects to open its next USA distribution centre within the next 12 months. Universal Stainless & Alloys Inc., formed in 1999, continues to distribute stainless steel products throughout North America.
