BUTTING wins order from Talisman

At the end of 2004 BUTTING received a major order to supply more than 54,000 metres of mechanically bonded BUTTING-Bimetal pipes (BuBi®-pipes) for Talisman Energy (UK) Ltd’s Tweedsmuir project.
Talisman Energy (UK) Ltd, a daughter company of the Talisman Energy Inc. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) is expanding both its Tweedsmuir and Tweedsmuir South oilfields. The fields are located 62km NE of Aberdeen, Scotland. BUTTING will supply more than 54,000 metres of mechanically bonded BuBi®-pipes in the dimension 323.9 x 15.9 + 2.5 mm and material combination DNV 450 IDU / Alloy 825 to the Tweedsmuir project. The BuBi®-pipe is a mechanically bonded pipe developed by BUTTING in the mid-1990s. It consists of a corrosion-resistant BUTTING pipe which is telescopically aligned inside a carbon steel pipe.
