BROCKHAUS Stahl ‘s slitting line

On 1 April 2002 BROCKHAUS STAHL GmbH, Plettenberg, took over the strip steel business from the Brockhaus cold rolling mill. The slitting line used there was conceived to satisfy the diverse requirements of a cold rolling mill where a variety of quality grades and a wide range of dimensions with thicknesses of up to 16 mm must be supplied. So today BROCKHAUS STAHL has a slitting line seldom found in European steel service centers. This equipment, with its very short set-up times, enables the slitting and trimming of different types of materials with surfaces of varying sensitivity – extending from hot rolled strip (black and pickled) and cold rolled strip (alloyed and non-alloyed) to non-ferrous metals (rolled and milled) and high-grade steel (stainless). Worthy of special note are the dimensions which are cut in the upper range of thicknesses e.g.: 13 mm x 25 mm, 10 mm x 32 mm or even 8 x 25 mm. The cut edges are smooth and clean and, for many customer specifications, do not require any further processing and can frequently be used directly as a “functional edgeâ€? in customer products. Strip steel in such extreme width/thickness ratios with clean, smooth edges is the speciality with which BROCKHAUS STAHL will appear in future on the market for steel and metal processing.
