Brazil: nuclear contract

AREVA, through its joint subsidiary with Siemens, Framatome ANP, has been awarded a EUR 44 million contract by Brazilian operator Eletrobrás Termonuclear SA – Eletronuclear for the supply of two replacement steam generators for the Angra 1 nuclear power plant. Framatome ANP will design the new steam generators and provide all the related procurement services. Manufacture of the new equipments will be subcontracted
to NUCLEP, the Brazilian nuclear components plant, with Framatome ANP providing technical assistance. The components will be delivered to the site in fall 2007 and installation will begin before the end of the year.
