Böhler-Uddeholm AG has acquired a majority stake in Villares Metals SA (Brazil). The
completion of the transaction by Böhler-Uddeholm is subject to certain conditions, for
example, approval by the anti-trust authorities. Villares Metals SA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aços Villares SA, a Brazilian company controlled by the Spanish Sidenor Group. Böhler-Uddeholm is a producer of special steel with headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Villares Metals, which is headquartered in São Paulo, has two production sites and a sales network in Brazil as well as distribution partners in markets throughout North and South America. The company also
operates distribution subsidiaries in the Netherlands and Finland. Villares Metals specialises in the tool steel, high-speed steel, and valve steel segments in South America.
