Bluewater wins contract for offshore facilities

Soekor E & P (Pty) Ltd, Parow, South Africa, and its partners Pioneer Natural Resources South Africa (Pty) Ltd and Petroleum Ltd have awarded Bluewater (UK) Ltd a contract for the production facilities for Sable field, in the Bredasdorp basin off South Africa. The agreement calls for Bluewater to provide and operate a floating production, storage and offloading vessel, shuttle tanker and subsea equipment for the duration of Sable field’s productive life. The term of the lease and operating contract is ten years with a minimum term of three years. Bluewater will deploy the FPSO Glas Dowr to Sable field, and co-ordinate and support day-to-day production operations from a base to be established onshore. Before installation at Sable, the vessel’s production and processing facilities will be modified to fit the characteristics of the field’s hydrocarbons. Design capacities are 40 MBOPD processing, 80 MMSCFD re-injection, and 45 MBWPD injection. Bluewater aims to instal and commission FPSO Glas Dowr in time to initiate production at Sable by the 4th quarter 2002.
