Bethlehem Energy Center contract awarded

Sargent & Lundy LLC has been selected by PSEG Power New York Inc., a subsidiary of PSEG Power, to provide the engineering services for the 750mw Bethlehem Energy Center (BEC) in Bethlehem, NY. PSEGNY is redeveloping a site by replacing the existing 1950s 400mw Albany Steam Station with the USD 400 million BEC, a combined-cycle generating facility. BEC will be natural gas fired with low-sulphur distillate oil as a secondary fuel and have an advanced closed-loop cooling system. BEC is expected to begin commercial operation in late spring 2004.
