Acciai Speciali Terni SpA (Arvedi AST) announced that the factory in Terni, including its Service Center and its Forging Division, have been certified as core site certification by DNV Italy independent auditors to run according to the ResponsibleSteel™ standard.
ResponsibleSteel™ is the world’s most renowed sustainability certification program for the steel industry and Acciai Speciali Terni SpA is the first Italian steel producer working according to this standard.
The standard consists of 12 principles containing more than 200 requirements that set the benchmark for responsible steel production. The audits performed by DNV have examined a wide range of aspects related to sustainability issues: governance and ethics; health and safety; human and labor rights; climate change, greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity; responsible resource management and other environmental aspects; stakeholder engagement and local community relations.
