AMETEK SMP awarded with two Nadcap reaccreditations

AMETEK SMP Superior Tube, a leading manufacturer of small diameter precision metal tubing for the aerospace and defense industries as well as other sectors, has announced two successful reaccreditations from Nadcap, formerly known as the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program. Superior Tube met all Nadcap’s requirements based on the exacting standards around heat treating and welding/brazing.

Nadcap provides independent accreditation and certification of special manufacturing processes and products to companies working across the aerospace and defense sectors. Superior Tube was re-awarded the heat treating and welding/brazing reaccreditations based on its ongoing commitment to continual improvement in the aerospace industry, as demonstrated in specific manufacturing processes. These include chemical processing, metal coatings, conventional machining, heat treating, non-destructive testing, and welding.

The Nadcap program is run by the Performance Review Institute and was established in 1990 to develop and monitor an industry-wide set of criteria, providing independent certification of conformity across a range of special processes in the aerospace and defense sectors.
