Alstom wins steam turbine order

Alstom has won an order for a 93.7mw industrial steam turbine to be delivered to the Beatrice site in Nebraska, USA. The customer is TIC-UE (The Industrial Company-Utility Engineering). The ST6 turbine is a dual-casing machine, comprising a high-pressure turbine and a low-pressure turbine, driving a common generator. The advantage of the dual-casing configuration is that each module operates at different speeds to provide optimal overall performance. The ST6 turbine will be used for power generation in combined cycle. It will be delivered from Alstom’s manufacturing facility in Finspong, Sweden. Delivery time is scheduled for March 2004 and commissioning for autumn 2004.
