Alstom to supply India

Alstom has won two contracts, for a total value of over EUR 25 million, to supply hydro-mechanical equipment for the Omkareshwar and Tuirial projects in India. The order for the Omkareshwar project was awarded by Jaiprakash Industries Ltd, an Indian civil works contractor. Alstom’s scope of supply includes the design, manufacture, delivery, erection and commissioning of 23 spillway radial gates (17 m x 20 m), complete with hydraulic hoists, power units and electrical control equipment. Delivery is scheduled within 48 months. The Omkareshwar Hydroelectric Plant is located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The Tuirial project order was placed by India’s North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. The project is located on the lowest stage of the Tuirial river in the NE state of Mizoram. The scope of supply includes the design, manufacture, delivery, erection and commissioning of hydro-mechanical equipment for the 2 x 30 MW Tuirial Hydroelectric Project. Delivery is scheduled within 39 months.
