Weir Westgarth and Weir Entropie recently completed delivery of the fourth Thermo Compression Desalination Plant of 2500m3/day capacity for the Private Department of His Highness Sheik Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The multi-million dollar contract included the design, supply and commissioning of four desalination plants and the associated steam boiler equipment. The boilers were supplied by Cochran Boilers in Annan, in Scotland. The first desalination unit was contracted to be delivered in 12 weeks ex works and first water was produced in 22 weeks from receipt of order.
