The Chairman of the BSSA announced that John Rowe will take over the role of Managing Director of the BSSA from the 1st October 2019.
Born in Lancashire, John spent practically his entire childhood in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). He started his career as a partner in a firm of solicitors in
Rhodesia. John then branched out into industry in 1979, notably joining Columbus Stainless where he was responsible for both domestic and global sales and marketing. In 2002 he was approached by Thyssen Krupp to join their company and eventually became the CEO of Shanghai Krupp Stainless. He assumed the role of Secretary-General of the ISSF (International Stainless Steel Forum) in 2012.
