Metal Powder Products (MPP), a global provider of custom-engineered powder metallurgy product solutions, announced plans to expand its operations in Hamilton County, moving a manufacturing division from Solon, Ohio, to Indiana and creating up to 80 new jobs by 2020. The company has already hired 51 new employees since planning its job growth last year.
The Noblesville-based company, which is a portfolio company of Mill Point Capital, will invest $1.5 million to equip and repurpose its 60,000-square-foot facility at 14670 Cumberland Road to significantly increase its production capacity in Indiana and accommodate the new division, metal injection molding (MIM) manufacturing. With the investment, MPP will dedicate more space; 40,000 square feet; to manufacturing while the remaining 20,000 square feet will be equipped to serve as office space and to support R&D capabilities. Limited production of the company’s MIM manufacturing is currently underway and will be fully operational this spring.
MPP has more than 1,150 employees in the U.S. and China, including 352 associates at its Noblesville and Campbellsburg, Indiana facilities. The company is currently hiring for skilled labor and plans to add up to 29 new positions over the next two years.
Founded in 1948, MPP specializes in the production of engineered components using powder metallurgy (PM) and MIM techniques for automotive, hydraulic, medical and mechanical applications. MIM often referred to as powdered injection molding is an advanced metal forming technique that uses injection molding equipment for manufacturing both simple and complex metal parts to tight tolerances.
