Ugitech, a company of the SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group, is presenting its solutions for aerospace at the Paris Air Show in June. EN 9100 and EN 9120-certified the French steel company offers state-of-the-art technologies and quality processes. The results are anti-corrosive special stainless steel solutions with an extremely fine microstructure and consistent mechanical and technical properties.
The UGI 15.5 PH AIR, and new martensitic, grades specifically developed for aerospace UGI 4057 AIR (AISI 431) and UGI 4418 AIR (Cr15Ni4.5Mo1) are in high demand and are used in brake systems, fasteners, shafts, fuel and air distribution, connectors as well as in flanges and cylinders for hydraulic connections on aircraft. Every component is safety-critical given the high stresses during flight and must be absolutely reliable. By means of special manufacturing processes, Ugitech is able to deliver the required attributes such as corrosion resistance, strength and toughness. For particularly high demands regarding purity and resistance to wear, the company produces UGI 15-5 PH AIR and UGI 17-4 PH AIR that are manufactured using an electro-slag remelting (ESR) process.

Ugitech is capable of delivering materials even in small quantities. The range extends from a few kilograms to several tonnes – made possible by a high degree of flexibility in the production of steel, which also allows short delivery times.
