A unique building in the English countryside is certainly an eye-catcher; shimmering stainless steel panels coat this elongated structure which literally floats above the ground.

The Balancing Barn is situated on a beautiful site by a small lake in the quintessentially English countryside. While the building has been designed in the form of a barn, the design has been given a uniquely updated twist with the installation of mirror polished stainless steel.
The Balancing Barn has been designed to make people reevaluate the countryside, while also endeavoring to make contemporary architecture accessible. However, aside from these lofty aspirations, the Barn is, at its heart, both a restful and exciting holiday home, boldly designed to provoke a gut response to architecture and nature over a short stay.
The contemporary holiday house accommodates up to eight people and boasts 210 m² floor area. It was designed by MVRDV in cooperation with Mole architects.
