Glacier Energy Services appoints MDs

International oilfield services specialist Glacier Energy Services is refocusing its business structure with the creation of specific Offshore and Engineering divisions, and appointment of managing directors to lead those operations.

Mark Derry joins Glacier as head of the Offshore division, while George Leggate, who recently returned to the company to head up its Wellclad business, will lead the Engineering side of the group.

Scott Martin continues as Chairman of the group, and, as part of the restructuring, Dave Sturrock, having successfully led the business as CEO from its inception in March 2011, moves to the position of Strategic Director focussing on key business opportunities, growth projects and supporting M & A activities across the group.
Mark Derry, 51, is a former COO of Ashtead Technology’s offshore division, managing director of SBS Marine and head of UK business for Hydratight.

He has extensive global energy experience, including in Norway, Abu Dhabi and Singapore, gained during more than 10 years in international operations with Baker Hughes Centrilift and Fugro. He is also a former aircraft technician and instructor with the RAF, with whom he was posted to Germany for six years.

George Leggate, 43, has more than 20 years’ experience across oil and gas equipment manufacturing and global project management, as well as business process outsourcing and global customer service operations. He rejoined Wellclad in late 2012, having founded the company in 1997.
