Serimax appoints new managing director

Vallourec’s subsidiary, Serimax, has appointed Frederic Castrec as managing director to replace David Williams. Castrec joined Serimax in 1996 as a welding engineer and maintained several senior positions, including Chief Operating Officer, before taking over the managing director role. Serimax offers welding expertise and project management for land and marine pipelines, spoolbases and offshore fabrication in the oil, gas, water and petrochemical industries.

Castrec will succeed David Williams, who has led the management team since 2006 and negotiated the 800 strong company through the acquisition by Vallourec in June 2010. He will continue to play an important role in the growth of the business as a consultant on strategic projects. Castrec had this to say about his appointment: “I am looking forward to building on the foundations laid down by David Williams and guiding Serimax in to new markets as we continue our tradition of designing and developing cutting edge welding technologies.
