Contec contacting system by Frontius

Fronius International’s Contec contacting system offers extended service life, and an uninterrupted, more efficient welding process. Contec consists of two half shells, a compression spring, a wire feeding tube and a clamping nut. The tube feeds the filler material to the contacts on the half shells which are subjected to the constant pressure exerted by the spring. Despite the wear this process causes to the half shells, it ensures that the contacting remains completely stable and that the TCP (Tool Centre Point) stays constant. Unlike traditional contact tubes that require constant replacement, Contec avoids the productivity and quality consequences that arise from frequent contact tube changes. Improved contact between the contact shell and the welding wire decrease contact tube problems providing a more stable arc, fewer pores and improved leakproof properties.
