Europe’s latest and biggest plasma centre attracted customers and long-standing partners from nearly 20 countries to Kjellberg Finsterwalde in Eastern Germany on 15 April 2010. Even before the official opening in June, about 160 guests from countries like India, China, Dubai, Russia or Spain had the opportunity to see for themselves the advantages of the new building of Kjellberg Finsterwalde Plasma und Maschinen GmbH and the products presented. In the new application centre they could in particular get an impression of the newly created technical possibilities. The guests followed demonstrations of underwater plasma cutting with the HiFocus 440i machine, bevel and hole cutting, marking of metals and cutting with the small manual plasma units of the new CUTi series. The cutting of profiles was demonstrated with a robot. The guests even had the opportunity to take a look into the development department where extensive testing on the lifetime of consumables is carried out. The new training facilities were another attraction. In future, interested persons can learn a lot about underwater and dry plasma cutting. Six gas cutting systems and two robots are available for diverse demonstrations and training. The Kjellberg Finsterwalde Schweißtechnik und Verschleißschutzsysteme GmbH and the Kjellberg Finsterwalde Elektroden und Zusatzwerkstoffe GmbH also took the opportunity to present their products. The welding division demonstrated plasma powder deposition welding with the new power source PSI 350 and SA welding with the new fillet welding automat UPK. The electrode division’s extensive range of standard and special welding electrodes completed the presentation.
