Chemical tanker order to china

Outokumpu Stainless Hot Rolled Plate in Degerfors has won a new chemical tanker order. The order is for stainless steel plate for two coastal tankers that are to be built in China. Around 250 tons of stainless steel will be delivered for each of the tankers, which will have a dead weight of 3600 tons. Avesta Welding, a subsidiary of Outokumpu Stainless, has also received an order regarding the delivery of welding consumables for the same project. In addition to the delivery of welding consumables, the company will
provide training for shipyard employees in how to handle stainless steel, welding metallurgy, as well as theoretical and practical training for welders. The deliveries from Outokumpu Stainless Hot Rolled Plate consist largely of ready-to-weld components, with cutting-to-length, edge preparation and corrugation to the proper shape being carried out at Outokumpu PSC Nordic in Degerfors.
