Smart welding machine

The Orbimat 160C is an Orbital Tube Welding Machine which takes the strain out of producing welding procedures. It has a fully automatic procedure generation facility which calculates welding parameters from material type, gas used, outside diameter and wall. The operator simply inputs these details and all welding parameters are entered into the procedure. The machine stores full welding procedures, which include gas type, gas flow rates, tungsten electrode diameter, grind angle and type. There is also a facility to allow project details to be stored to the procedure. The machines can be used for fusion or wire feed applications with no upgrades required. A 9″ LCD display presents information in an easy to understand layout, so minimal training is required. It also has a multi-lingual facility which currently covers 11 languages. The machine can store up to 300 welding procedures internally and this number is unlimited with the use of a standard Smart Media card. The extensive weld data logging facility makes the machine suitable when welding critical pipelines for the pharmaceutical and electronics industries with the ability to transfer data to a standard PC with not special interfacing or leads. The unit includes a weld head cooling system with high efficiency heat exchanger and an integral printer for producing copies of weld procedures or log files.
