Tobago has outlined a quarter billion USD budget that places much emphasis on exploiting the island’s potential for natural gas and other energy-related industries. Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Secretary for Finance Dr Anslem London labelled the fiscal package “Investment, employment and economic growth for Tobago and Tobagonians”. London said that the THA would discuss with the central government in Trinidad the establishment of a pipeline to transport gas from natural gas fields around Tobago to a proposed industrial site on the island. He said this initiative would ensure the development of an energy sector, dealing in the first instance with the processing of natural gas.
