Nigeria plans gas-to-liquid plant

Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, along with Alhaji Sa’adina Dantata, chairman and CEO of Danba Energy Ltd (Nigeria) and Mr William Morris of Dresser Engineering and Constructors Inc. (USA), have signed agreements for a 10,000 barrels per day (bpd) gas-to-liquid plant, to be located in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State, at a cost of USD 450 million. Dresser is to provide full project engineering services involving several phases of conceptual and evaluation development studies, a third phase front-end engineering design and the fourth phase of detailed design and procurement. Groundbreaking is scheduled for the second quarter of 2002 while construction duration is estimated at 36 months.
