Innovative solution for ship industry

Linsinger’s newly designed plate edge milling machine serves for the preparation of highly precise welding profiles on special steel plates for ship building. This concept enables to minimise the non-productive time considerably and to work more efficiently. With only two revolving milling stations all four sides of a plate can be milled, while the load and unload of the plate happens during the working process on the opposite side. Based on the profile data intelligent software chooses the suitable tool for the milling station. With the help of a tool changing device and magazine the milling unit can be equipped with the corresponding tool. This Linsinger milling machine works automatically and can therefore be fully integrated into the production process. In contrast to other procedures, milling ensures unaltered metal structures, free from hairline cracks. This makes it possible to achieve tight product tolerances and cost savings for the welding seam preparation.
