YUSCO invests to boost stainless in China

Yieh United Steel Corporation will invest USD 211.7 million for the implementation of two significant projects including the construction of a ferronickel plant in Fujian and the expansion of stainless cold rolled capacity at its affiliate, Lianzhong Stainless Steel Corporation. YUSCO’s board has approved an investment of USD 95 million for the construction of the Liande ferronickel plant which will have a capacity of 300,000tns in its first phase. The company will spend USD 116.7 million to expand Lianzhong’s stainless CR capacity from 500,000tns to 1.2 million tonnes, aiming to enhance competitiveness and its share in China’s domestic stainless steel market.
