Worldwide Stainless has finalised its USD 95M acquisition of Bahru Stainless Sdn Bhd.
The company’s vision is to restore Bahru Stainless as a major and sole producer of cold-rolled stainless steel while ensuring seamless vertical integration with sustainability and global competitiveness in mind to spur on existing key revenue drivers.

Worldwide Stainless is streamlining operations at Bahru Stainless to align with its vision for efficiency and sustainability. These strategic changes are designed to enhance productivity, meet global standards, and position the plant for long-term growth.
Another key achievement of this acquisition is the successful rehiring of 90% of Bahru Stainless’ previously retrenched workforce. These retained skilled professionals bring years and decades of collective industrial experience, know-how, and diverse skill sets essential to the plant’s success as an ongoing concern.
While the plant’s maximum capacity is 300,000 metric tonnes annually, the immediate focus will be on stabilising daily operations, maintaining product quality, and fostering teamwork and cohesion across the ranks.
